How to reach IES-UPM

 

The Instituto de Energía Solar (IES-UPM) is located in the Moncloa University Campus (Ciudad Universitaria), at the premises of the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación (E.T.S.I.T.), in the northwest area of Madrid.

IES-UPM can be reached by bus, metro (underground) or taxi.

The closest metro stations are “Ciudad Universitaria”, “Cuatro Caminos” and “Moncloa”, (Line 6).

“Ciudad Universitaria” is the closest station, about 1 Km. walk (10 minutes) and  there is a regular bus connection with the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación, lines 82, G and U.

Bus lines from “Cuatro Caminos” and “Moncloa” metro stations are, respectively, F and 82.

Recommended routes

  • Option 1 (aprox. 58 min.):
       - Metro (line 8) to Nuevos Ministerios
       - Change to line 6 (Circular) towards Moncloa to Ciudad Universitaria.
  • Option 2 (aprox. 54 min.):
       - Cercanias RENFE (line C1) to Nuevos Ministerios
       - Change to line 6 (Circular) towards Moncloa to Ciudad Universitaria.

Getting to IES-UPM from the airport

Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport  Madrid airport consists of four terminals, one satellite building and two docks (one of them can actually be considered as another terminal), as well as another terminal, which is used for cargo handling only.

  • Terminals 1, 2 y 3 (T1, T2 and T3) can be accessed from “Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3″ metro station (Line 8). Also, bus line 200 connects the terminals with “Avenida de América” metro station  (Line 6).
  • Terminal 4 (T4 and its satellite T4S) is mainly operated by IBERIA. It is accessed from “Aeropuerto T4″ metro station (line 8). Bus Line 204  connects the terminal with “Avenida de América” metro station  (Line 6).
