E.T.S. Forestry Engineering

The Special School for Woodland Engineering was created by Royal Decree in 1835, although it did not open its doors until 1848, by which time it was known as the Special School for Forestry Engineering. In 1853, the Body of Forestry Engineers was set up and its first Engineers graduated from the School in the town of Villaviciosa de Odón.
In 1870 the School transferred to the Real Sitio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial, where it remained until 1914, when it transferred to Madrid. It was provisionally located in calle del Rey Francisco and after than in calle del General Martínez Campos, until 1946 when it moved to its current location.
