E.U. Computer Sciences
In the study of Computer Sciences incorporated into University Education, the teaching was arranged into three cycles. However, given the characteristics of these studies and their nature, it became extremely advisable to create not only the Faculties but also University Colleges which provides teaching oriented towards a scientific and technical education and the preparation of professionals in just one cycle of three years in duration.
The University College of Computer Sciences integrated into the U.P.M. came about as a response to the social needs of first cycle graduates, both in the field strictly of computer sciences and industrial, commercial and research. The Centre was created by the Decree of the 27th October 1978, and began its activities in the 1978/79 academic year.
