PROGRAM FOR PERMANENT LEARNING: ERASMUS SUBPROGRAM
The general objective of the new General Permanent Learning Program is to contribute to the development of the Community as an advanced knowledge society through permanent learning, with a sustainable economic growth, more and better work posts and a greater social cohesion whilst at the same time guaranteeing the protection of the environment for future generations. In particular, it tries to stimulate exchange, cooperation and mobility between the systems of education and training within the Community, so that it becomes a reference for global quality.

The Permanent Learning Program was established to tackle the modernization and adaptation between the systems of education and training of the Member States, in particular in the context of the strategic Lisbon Objectives, and contributes European added value directly to the individual citizens that participate in their mobility and in other cooperation activities.
The Erasmus subprogram is within this program which includes two types of student mobility.

  • Student mobility to carry out studies
  • Student mobility for practical work experience in companies

Participating in an Erasmus Program means that the student can study at a European University or carry out work experience in a company in a language other than Spanish and with the academic recognition from the UPM.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • To be enrolled in the UPM to obtain the diploma qualification or technical engineer, graduate, engineer, architect or PhD.
  • To be a citizen of one of the 27 countries of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway or of a candidate
  • country for membership: The former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Croatia and Turkey or citizens of other countries provided that they have the status of permanent resident, stateless or refugee.
  • Not having previously obtained an Erasmus grant to study or an Erasmus grant to carry out work experience in the same academic year.
  • The student must have sufficient knowledge of the language in which the courses that they are going to attend.
  • The Erasmus student mobility for studying will be based on the Bilateral Agreements between the participating institutions, each of which holds an Erasmus University Charter and a prior Training Agreement between the student,
  • The Home Centre and the Company for student mobility for work practice in companies.
    The student must be enrolled at least in the second year of the study program if he or she wishes to carry out studies abroad.
  • The exchange cannot be carried out to take courses in subjects in which the student has failed.
  • There may be other requirements specific to each Bilateral Agreement or Training Agreement: Profile of each placement.
