CeSVIma is seeking a PhD in computer science or related areas (electrical engineering, mathematics, physics) and experience and well-rounded background in High Performance Computing and expertise in HPC applications to one or several areas (bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics/proteomics, computation for industry, computation in basic sciences, and neuroscience).
Good communication skills, strong curiosity, a desire to learn outside one's field of expertise and capability to work in a multidisciplinary team will be appreciated. Knowledge of associated systems (visualization or large database) will also be appreciated.
The candidate will be part of an active research group and will lead existing and new and exciting projects related to life sciences (bioinformatics and neuroscience) as well as other researchers and PhD candidates with freedom to establish a new research area in the centre. It is also an opportunity to interact with the broad range of researchers and users of the facilities of the centre.
