New ideas for new challenges
Actúaupm offers a great opportunity for UPM’s students, professors and staff for developing their business ideas. Deadline for registration is next March 12th.
The actúaupm Business Plan Competition aims to promote research activity and knowledge developed at the UPM Campus, in order to materialize it through viable business projects. The ninth edition of this competition, open to the Technical University of Madrid community will start in 2012.
Phases
In this sense, the competition will select several teams that will have access to training process, in which they will learn to shape their business initiatives, as well as to turn them into a business plan. In addition, the competition program will provide training on finance, human resources, sales, strategy and marketing, which will help teams to make their initial idea successful once launched.
This training is conducted in collaboration with Business School IEN Politécnica, through expert professors in various subjects.
During this process, participants will receive expert´s advices collaborating in the UPM Entrepreneurship Program, who will support teams to achieve maximum quality in their proposals.
Awards
Once the business plans are completed, they will have the option to access to three final prizes awarded with an amount of 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000 euro respectively. The best project promoted by students will obtain 3000 euro.
Workshops and activities
This program has been fully consolidated. In recent years, it has involved more than 1,300 entrepreneur teams, has launched 109 companies, which have attracted investor´s funds worth over €23M since 2007.

As partners, it continues its collaboration with Business School IEN Politécnica, Revista Emprendedores, Axon Capital and Global Incubator.
