Procedure for obtaining a researcher Card from the National library is as follows:
The National Library provides a researcher membership card to all of those people in possession Madroño Passport membership card.
Once you have the passport, the procedure to be followed to obtain a researcher membership card in the Library National for anybody is as follows:
The person must pass through the usual security controls at the entrance of the National Library.
After that, he or she must go to the General Information and Membership Card Section (2nd floor, central section, from 09:00 to 21:00 Monday to Friday, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00) and apply for a researcher membership card. To facilitate the process, the person will inform the General Information staff that he or she is in possession of a Madroño Passport membership card.
At the General Information counter the person will be given a form to fill in, as well as basic information on the library (timetables, rooms, toilet facilities, rules of use, user training, etc.).
Once the form has been filled in, the person will then go to the counter for the issuing of membership card. The form will be handed in at that counter as will the rest of the documentation required (Madroño Passport membership card and National Identity Card, both of them valid); this documentation will be returned to the user at the end of the process. The library staff will take a digital photograph, enter personal data into the user data base of the library and issue a card/membership card with the data and photograph (so that the process need only be carried out once).
Once in possession of the said membership card, the holder will be able to use any service and room in the library and consult any of its collections.
Should it be necessary to apply for a new membership card (deterioration, loss, renewal), the user must go to General Information counter to make the application.
